About the Faculty of Science​

The Faculty of Science was established in August 1942 as a one of the first faculties of Alexandria University (formerly Farouk I University). The study started in the faculty on October 17, 1942. The Faculty offers the following degrees: General B.Sc., Special B.Sc., Postgraduate diploma. M.Sc and Ph.D. Because of the evolution of the faculty and the increase in the number of students, the faculty exists in several sites:

1. Building of Muharram Bek (the original building).

2. The preparatory building, which was established in 1963 near the Faculty of Agriculture).

3. The building in the road of freedom beside the Faculty of Engineering, which was established in 1989 (contains the Department of Chemistry labs and nuclear physics).

The faculty consists of nine departments: Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry - Botany- Zoology – Geology - oceanography - biochemistry- Environmental Science.
